 | A New York Songbook at the Opera Fringe Northern Ireland, Saturday, June 25, 2005 Music Theatre Ireland, who last year brought the hugely popular Simply Sondheim to the Fringe, present a rare opportunity to hear new songs from New York. Ellen McElroy and Danna Davis, originally a New Yorker herself, are joined by Kenneth W. Gartman direct from ‘The Big Apple’.
Under the musical direction of David Wray the company present a fast paced cabaret of contemporary songs, many of which have not yet been heard outside the USA. Sometimes witty, often poignant, at all times on the cutting edge of urban chic, A New York Songbook takes a refreshingly candid look at relationships (and the lack of them!) in our contemporary world. You’ll laugh and cry with them, know them by their sincerity, be empowered by their courage and inspired by their resilience.
