KENNETH GARTMAN PERFORMS IN HIS HOMETOWN OF SNYDER, TX

Kenneth Gartman returns to Snyder for one night only with his critically acclaimed show, KENNETH GARTMAN (…NOT LIKE THE OTHER CAVEMEN).  Gartman recently completed a successful run of his cabaret debut show at Don’t Tell Mama in NYC.  In his show, Kenneth reveals aspects of his life and personality delivering songs that alternate between joyful and introspective with some gospel coloring thrown in for good measure.  The show promises to be a delightful evening of music and comedy that impacts the emotions and the intellect.

Kenneth is a graduate of Snyder High School.   While growing up in Snyder, he studied piano with Lynn Bethel-Baldwin, sang in the junior high school choir under Barbara Perkins’ direction and in the high school choir with Bill Lyon.  Kenneth graduated as Salutatorian of the Class of 1991.  He was a four time member of the Texas All-State Choir.  Kenneth attended First Baptist Church and played the piano for St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.  After attending Angelo State University, Gartman moved to Dallas.  While in Dallas he performed with the TX Gilbert & Sullivan Company, the Ft. Worth Opera Company and the Turtle Creek Chorale.  Kenneth taught in the education program at the Dallas Theatre Center.  He was also a choral director in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Dallas ISD and Coppell ISD.  Kenneth moved to NYC in September of 2000.  He makes his living as a singer, pianist, music director and vocal coach based out of NYC. 

Kenneth toured the US in the National Tour of THE MUSIC MAN.  Internationally, he has performed throughout Ireland in SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM, SIMPLY SONDHEIM (LIVE! BBC Broadcast), and A NEW YORK SONGBOOK: WAY OFF BROADWAY.  Kenneth has appeared as a soloist in some of the country’s finest concert halls including Carnegie Hall.  He has also been featured on demo recordings for the new musicals CAMPAIGN, THE DWELLING TIME, THE TOYMAKER and TROUBLE IN SHAMELAND.  Visit www.KennethGartman.com for more.
